While shopping for a foyer table I had a hard time finding one that was long enough for our space. So, what better resolution than to just have your husband make one? Lucky me, I have a husband that is handy and can whip these things up for me in no time :)
here is the finished product-- this photo was taken a few months ago. My decor is ever changing is this area :) but isn't everything? |
For each of the tables that we make, we use a stain made out of 000 Steel Wool and vinegar. There's no exact science to this mixture. We just take a clump of steel wool, and a large mason jar full of vinegar. After placing steel wool into vinegar, let it sit overnight and use the next day on your piece. To me, it really makes the cheapest of wood look like barn wood-- and it's even cheaper than buying stain.
This is what you see upon entering our front door. Love this sign from Between You and Me. They're actually out of Athens, GA. I am all about supporting local businesses. |
